Digital Video Versus Analog
DVR's  are easier to manage than older analog systems. The capability of instant access to recorded or live video upfront or remotely makes DVR a valuable asset  Storage is easier than with analog because the volume of video that can be stored on a single disc far outweighs that which can be stored on a tape. The quality of the images digital video produces, and the fact that the quality doesn't diminish over time, can be an asset for law enforcement and court proceedings. A DVR will give you reliable video data when you need it. Digital video, can be networked. It can be accessed from any location, at any time, with a simple telephone or Internet connection. In addition, multiple users can view  all or partial video data by instituting password access and separate functions for multiple users.

Digital Video Recording System Advantages
DVR systems are easy to install and operate, and are cost effective to maintain. DVR's allow significant flexibility in recording, such as a variety of frame rates which gives you control over disc space. DVR systems can be configured from central or remote locations, again providing flexibility that is not available with analog systems. Digital systems offer instant retrieval and the ability to search multiple storage areas. A networked system allows users to share certain information between sites. A single disc can take the place of over 30 VCR tapes which can mean storing months instead of days' worth of video. The quality of the recording can  provide for greater admissibility in courtroom situations, especially when a watermarking feature is utilized, which will not allow any changes to the image. With  DVR technology, you no longer need to purchase time lapse recorders, quad processors, motion detectors, , pan tilt zoom controllers or any other accessory, as these are all  replaced by the software utilized with your DVR unit. With DVR technology, you eliminate the purchasing and archiving  VHS tapes.
